BIOGRAPHY Silver hasn’t had it easy. He’s an orphan, and his parentage is unknown. He was found abandoned in the woods by Caleb, then alpha of the Reke, a religious men-only pack who live in a secluded sanctuary as monks. He was brought by by Caleb as the next leader of the Reke, but Caleb’s brutal murder — where Caleb sacrificed his life for Silver’s — embittered Silver to the point of wanting to leave home forever. Silver travelled as far west as he could, settling down finally in an area unclaimed by any wolf packs. His little haven of solitude was soon interrupted by the arrival of Al and Vera, who were looking for a land of their own to begin a pack. Their live-and-let-live policy grew into friendship when Al saved Silver’s life. PHYSICAL APPEARANCE Human form Most people first notice the large scar on his chest, which runs diagonally from his right shoulder to his left hip. His complexion is pale, his eyes pale gray. His hair is a soft blond. Wolf form Standing a good head taller than most humans, Silver in his changed form is an intimidating sight. His coat is a soft grey, his tail thick and tipped with black. He has wide saucer eyes, almost golden brown in colour, and a lean, muscled body. No fur grows over the scar on his chest: the skin there is flat and shiny. PERSONALITY AND TRAITS Often grumpy and surly. A bit of a cipher. Stubborn. ABILITIES AND SKILLS He has the loping grace of the weres, his movements sinuous and predatory whether in wolf or human form. RELATIONSHIPS Al is his alpha. Amber is his half-sister. Jake and Fang are close friends. He is Howl‘s guardian. He rescues Lilith. BEHIND THE SCENES • Etymology: The origin of Silver’s name is simple. When he changes, his fur is a light grey colour.
